Faith
It's something we want, need, and never have enough of. But it is this, childlike. True faith is like that of a child reaching up to their Father with open arms. Running out into the field of life, full of joy, without a care in the world. Our Father wants us to have joy, be free, run, play and let him handle all the things in life that weigh us down. Is your faith like that of a child? Or are you in control of today?

Time
For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.

True and False Worship
"Shout with the voice of a trumpet blast.
Shout aloud! Don't be timid.
Tell my people Israels of their sins!
Yet they act so pious!
They come to the Temple every day
and seem delighted to learn all about me.
They act like a righteous nation
that would never abandon the laws of its God.
They ask me to take action on their behalf,
pretending they want to be near me.
`We have fasted before you!' they say.
`Why aren't you impressed?
We have been very hard on ourselves,
and you don't even notice it!'
"I will tell you why!" I respond.
"It's because you are fasting to please yourselves.
Even while you fast,
you keep oppressing your workers.
What good is fasting
when you keep on fighting and quarreling?
This kind of fasting
will never get you anywhere with me.
You humble yourselves
by going through the motions of penance,
bowing your heads
like reeds bending in the wind.
You dress in burlap
and cover yourselves with ashes.
Is this what you call fasting?
Do you really think this will please the Lord ?
"No, this is the kind of fasting I want:
Free those who are wrongly imprisoned;
lighten the burden of those who work for you.
Let the oppressed go free,
and remove the chains that bind people.
Share your food with the hungry,
and give shelter to the homeless.
Give clothes to those who need them,
and do not hide from relatives who need your help.
"Then your salvation will come like the dawn,
and your wounds will quickly heal.
Your godliness will lead you forward,
and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.
Then when you call, the Lord will answer.
`Yes, I am here,' he will quickly reply.
"Remove the heavy yoke of oppression.
Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors!
Feed the hungry,
and help those in trouble.
Then your light will shine out from the darkness,
and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.
The Lord will guide you continually,
giving you water when you are dry
and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like an ever-flowing spring.
Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities.
Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls
and a restorer of homes.
"Keep the Sabbath day holy.
Don't pursue your own interests on that day,
but enjoy the Sabbath
and speak of it with delight as the Lord 's holy day.
Honor the Sabbath in everything you do on that day,
and don't follow your own desires or talk idly.
Then the Lord will be your delight.
I will give you great honor
and satisfy you with the inheritance I promised to your ancestor Jacob.
I, the Lord , have spoken!"

To Capture
I love shooting portraits.
Capturing an expression that will last forever, a beauty that's endless, then sharing it with the world.
Model: Pamela Evans
"I never saw an ugly thing in my life: for let the form of an object be what it may - light, shade, and perspective will always make it beautiful." -John Constable

For the lack of color
I've always been drawn to the black and white photograph. I'm not sure why either. Who would have thought that the lack of that which we perceive every day could be so enamoring. Save the color blind, that's what we're used too! Color! And lots of it!
Is it because what's lacking allows our imagination to fill in the gaps? Like the scariest movies monsters, that which is kept hidden from our eyes leaves our brains to do the rest of the work. Our minds eye can add any array of colors that it can come up with! An imaginary rainbow of different shades, brightnesses, and hues. We can make it our own as much as the one who captured it. Would you like your sky purple? Your grass red? Or how about just like it always looks? Its up to you. You call the shots. Imagine!

Chasm - Flyleaf
My new favorite from the album Memento Mori by Flyleaf:
Break up already wake up now
Walk away take it all back now
Don’t be quick to lick the scab off
You're spitting in his face with the rest of them
Break up already wake up now
Walk away take it all back now
Don’t be quick to lick the scab off
Your spitting in his face with the rest of them
Please give me something I’m so thirsty,
I’m so thirsty
Oh please, let me warn them,
Don’t you come here, don’t bring anyone here
The chasm isn’t fixed yet. Take this water
Drinking ever deeper..living water
Please give me something I’m so thirsty
I'm so thirsty
Oh, Please.. let me warn them.
Don’t you come here, don’t bring anyone here
please…
Please give me something I’m so thirsty
I'm so thirsty
Oh, Please.. let me warn them. Don’t you come here, don’t bring anyone here

P.s. Never went to sleep. Been up since 3:30am. This is weird...
Feet First
I never thought coming up with something to say would be so difficult. I mean, its just a blog right? All I have to do it type... but it's much harder than that. Especially at 4:30 in the morning. Even though I work nights as an male nurse, thinking at all at this hour is a chore. These hunger pangs (or is it pains?) don't help either.
Here is my first entry in the world of blogging. Everybody seems to have one these days, especially photographers. Just one more way of marketing themselves I guess. I'll use this mostly as a way to communicate how I see the world, give my musings, tell funny (and possibly sad) stories from the hospital and showcase anything interesting that happens to pass in front of my lens. So here it is; my first post, albeit a conservative one.
